done - I really like many things about this car already. - any more money spent on the car should be spent on steps toward 24 valve moto-vation.

I would leave the lip as is. The idea of a splitter on an i lip is great !
(any good [close-up] shots of that?)

iS lips look great but can rob a car of day-to-day driveablity.
-again, the i lip + splitter is something i immediately want to do to my car (currently have a color-matched i lip and was considering 'stacking' an unpainted black one below)

i imagine it's a pretty cost-effective DIY too - just trace profile from lip surface onto 3/16" black abs plastic, trim, scuff sharp edges, drill fastening holes, attach, and you're done.
