An E30 M3 on any track longer than HTM would lose by a huge margin to an E36 M3 with similar levels of prep. No contest.

Umm - you are forgetting the most important variable - the nut behind the wheel.

Me and my lowly little non-M get past (some) e36 and e46 M3s on the track . . .
