    Got my e30 finally

Finally sold my jeep that i had to get an e30...picked up an 89 325i 2 dr 5 spd in Lachsilber, with a LSD. 183k and all maitanence records on it...has a little bit of rust but nothing major. I like it a whole lot i didnt realize how peppy the i cars are. Cant wait to start modding it and get it on the autocross track

Looks like an AWESOME platform to start with. Clean car, and 89 is the best because you get plastic bumpers and no airbag wheel. Lachs is a great color, too. One good cut & polish and it will shine like new. Can't wait to see what you do with it!

      Suspension first!

Do the suspension before you go out and buy aftermarket wheels. Nothing looks goofier than a stock ride-height car on big-ass aftermarket rims.

And those wheels are pretty darn ugly. Not to mention they're out of production, so if you bend one, you're SOL. Spend you money on a good suspension kit.

I agree suspension 1st. I have seen those mille's look good on 1 car, but it was absolutly slammed. Search for member slammed_e30. He used to have those on his car.

              Looks like a great start. I wish I started with a 89.

Thanks...yeah ive had a couple e30's before, a 91 325iX 2dr auto, and an 86 325es, but i like the i the best, its noticeably quicker than the iX IMO...and the wheels i think im going to pass on, definately need to do suspension, are Koni's the way to go for struts, and then what kind of springs, a buddy of mine has Vogtland, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated because i want to do this car right, especially for when i move out to Cali later on this year

I had those wheels in techchrome on a '00 Jetta GLX. I liked them a lot, but the outer spoke really got sand blasted. I had two sets go back to tirerack.

Konis are definitely great shocks, and are unbeatable with a set of Ireland Engineering Stage III springs. My exact setup, and I LOVE it.
