    My S52 Swap Thread

In this thread I'm going to chronicle the progress of my S52 swap, I'm trying to take relevant pictures so people can use it as somewhat of a guide later on. Enjoy.

9am, hood up and ready for mollestation

    Another shot of the lab

9:45 wiring harness unplugged, radiator removed, all hoses disconnected.

    Another shot of everything loose

    Control, we have liftoff!

    Up, up and away

20 years of dirt and crud

Engine bay post pressure washing, too bad the cosmoline will never go away

Removing the oiling system on the S52 in preparation for the e34 525i oil pan

I'm in your motor, breaking off your brackets!

    OBDII stuff about to disappear

Nice write up. How long do you think untill you'll be driving?

Your old motor/empty bay looked pretty clean imo.

If I had time to dedicate to it and the rest of the parts I could have it rolling tomorrow. However, I'm really busy and won't have too much time to work on the car between now and next week. I still need to order a chip, and a brake booster, so I'm not in any hurry.

My old motor/bay wasn't too terribly bad, ran strong, didn't burn in oil that I could see, just leaked it. By my standards the thing wasn't clean enough, but I'm a bit more anal retentive than most.

I'll update the thread with more pictures once I get a chance to work on it more.

Is there any way you can re-host the pics? I'd love to see this. I'm probably going to do the same swap this summer.

Eh, POS is free, and I will probably get the bandwidth limit upped again, for free, so I don't care.
