    Karma sucks.

So as I'm walking through a parking lot to my car yesterday, I see a late model Accord run into the back of an old Suburban. As the owners are frantically scurrying about I let one of those "glad that ain't me" chuckles out. This morning as I'm pulling into my usual parking spot a young woman in a Jeep Liberty blindly backs out of the stall right as I'm driving past, and the slow motion nightmare begins as I watch the Jeep closing in. A split second later the nightmare ends with the usual loud "CRACK" and scrape. Dammit, Karma sucks.

I did get lucky in that respect.

Went to the bodyshop at lunch to get a repair estimate, came out to around $2400 all said and done. Thankfully I wasn't at fault for the accident, since she ran into me, so the only thing it'll cost me is having a nice car for a few weeks.

Wow, I hope you think that bodyshop guy is cute, cause for $2400 that really should come with a lifetime supply of blow jobs

It's a big quote. It's all in CAD though.

              Something like:
              $900 Labour
              $400 Paint
              $200 Smoothing
              $100 Clear Coat
$100 New mouldings and window trim
              $700 Door

They didn't include the mirror, which is now loose as well. That should be around another $500 new.

Good thing your window was up. Sorry to see that happen to you. If you want, take the door pannel off and hit the inside on the door on the dent. Should get it looking a lot better then. Better than that big ass dent.

Yea, when my door got nailed it wasnt as bad, but they replaced the door, it was only 900 bucks total (paint, labor, parts, door).

If you've got a bodyshop telling you they can fix that run far far away, and don't let them touch your car, that door is way to tweaked to fix, i don't care how good of a bodyman you are. They would have to mud the crap out of that thing. Get a good used door.
