I dont think the little M button unleaches the extra HP. As far as I know you can't get full power from the engine until you take it back to the dealer after a certain amount of miles are on the engine. The 'M' button may be for the 'F1 style' launch... at least that was the case with the M5.Comment

I thought it was +/- 10hp per mildy funny comment a senior member made?

On the M5 it did change the output of the v10 from 400hp to 500hp and adjusted suspension for stiffer ride and how the tranny shifted and activated side bolsters on the seats for better support in corners..
Does it not work the same way on the m6 ?Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

I believe after watching the Top Gear tests on the M5 and M6, you select between 400 or 500hp from the I Drive menu. The M button unleashes that "extra 7hp", but it also sharpens throttle response, speeds up gear shifts, and firms up the suspension.'88 528e /// '88 M5 /// '89 951 /// '98 E430 /// '02 M5Comment

That's alot of weght on the wheel to balance such a nice new tire and rim combo.
Don't like the new 6 and I do like the M5.Comment

yes, but the change in power wasn't available until the engine was 'broken in'. You have to take it to the dealer after a certain mileage in order to get the full 500hpComment
