    I'm new... here's my baby

Hello everyone. I'm new to this board and just wanted to say hello and post some pictures of my project.

It's a 1987 325e that I bought last summer for $600. This is my first project car, so it's a bit of a learning experience, but so far I've had a lot of fun with it. I bought it with 113,000 miles on it. From what I could see, the car was maintained decently, however the paint doesn't show it. The paint seriously looks like the car was parked on the surface of the sun for a few months.

Here's what the car looked like when I first bought it. The wheels were heavily covered with break dust. I sanded them down as much as possible and repainted them flat black.

And here's some pictures of the car at various auto cross events.

And then some pictures of the interior as it is now, gutted.

This winter I didn't get to do much with it because of a motorcycle accident that left me with a broken ankle. But it's spring now and I've had time to heal and I'm back to working on the car.

    What I've done so far:
    - Replaced the motor mounts
    - Replaced the shocks and springs
    - gutted the interior
    - added a race bucket for the drivers seat
    - replaced the bent up hood with a newer straight hood
    - chipped it

    What I'm currently doing:
    - Replacing the control arms, tie rods, and front bushings
    - adding front and rear sway bars
    - adding front and rear strut tower braces
    - making a harness bar
    - add my five point harness

What I'd like to do in the future:
    - Get new tires
    - Paint it (god it needs it)
    - I'm also up in the air about doing an I head swap or just turboing the eta

Anyways, I just wanted to say hi. Please let me know if any of you have advice or words of caution for what I'm doing or plan to do. Like I said before, I'm pretty new to this and I'm learning all of this as I go.

I also log almost all of what I do on my site, http://rwdandslow.com

I really do have a lot of work ahead, but it's ok. I have a fairly stressful job, so coming home and letting my brain go numb while I work on my car is always relaxing.

I've been to two autox's so far. The first was a 24 hour event and the second was a two day event where the first day was a test and tune and the second day was the event itself.

While the lean is pretty awesome to look at, I'm trying to get rid of that with sway bars. That particular corner that I was going around was a pretty tough corner. In fact here's a video of my car going around it in the opposite direction (near the end http://youtube.com/watch?v=hRGZPVx6eZw).
