    great little wake up call

so I'm passed out in my bed and I wake up to my girlfriend that was dropping off some clothes she washed for me. The first thing she says is, "what happened to your fender?". I told her to stop playing around but she said she was serious. So I went out to my car to discover this:

so yeah, that wasn't the greatest thing to wake up to. And not to mention, whoever hit it, didn't leave a note, card, napkin nothing.

    bastards

That fucking SUCKS. That is the reason I have full coverage on my eta that I park in a parkinglot and outdoors all the time.

      I hate that crap!

I had someone let a loose shopping cart hit my front fender at teh bottom of a parking lot hill a year back. Then this last week I found a small area on the corner of my rear bumper where someone lightly tapped it. It took off a little paint and damaged teh side molding. Stupid people!

yeah these kind of people need to be taken out back and fucking shot!!
Hopefully my good buddy Johnny will help me out with this whole situation. He does amazing work. He actually did Ryan G's cabby which only Ryan, Johnny, my friend and I have seen. It looks amazing but you will only get to see that turboed beast if you go to bimmerfest. He'll be there.

but yeah I just hope everything goes smoothly and i can just get my fender fixed and then the whole car resprayed. A while back someone hit the car in the rear but the PO just had them fix it and respray the back section. so the doors the roof and the fenders and hood are all older paint than the rear so I thought I'd just go all the way. Hopefully he gives me a good price.

If you hit someone's car, at least leave a note - that's why we all pay insurance...

Heh, after crashing my own car I was borrowing my brother's spare, a kia. Some drunk driver plowed into it a couple weeks after I got it, during the night. Thanks life.

yeah the fender isnt too much to replace but now im debating on whether to get a new fender and just get that sprayed. or, get a new fender and get the whole damn car sprayed. because think about it, the car's paint has at least 5 or six years of sun and element exposure, which means if i get the fender sprayed then that paint will look better than any other part of the car. so i figure why not put out the extra money now then the whole car will look better not like it was sprayed one section at a time.

A good body shop will be able to match and/or blend the paint on the new fender to the rest of the car. When I had my last E30 (a bronzit one, at that), some guy backed into my door in a parking lot. I had the door repaired and resprayed, and they blended the door to the rest of the body, which was original paint, and it looked great.

well like i said before, this guy that i know did an amazing job on Ryan G's cabby so maybe that will be the route i should take. it sounds to me like the more wallet friendly route not to mention time friendly. he could easily take a week to paint it and then like another four or five days to get the fender unless i pay for over night or something.

BTW, does anyone know of a good site to pick up a new OE fender or aftermarket fender for a decent price? oh yeah i checked Bavauto and that was a decent price so is there anything out there that is of the same or better quality for a better price than Bavauto?

I would try the Eurodepot, or ebay. Finding a new OEM one might be hard.

I wouldnt necessarily call my car nice but it means the world to me so anything that happens to it really pisses me off. but I know exactly what you mean. stupid ass people that would do the world a great deal of good if they would just walk to work or wherever they need to go.

You got off easy. I got nailed in the rear bumper (shattered the bumper/molding) and in the front fender/bumper/molding...within the same week!!

weak dude!!! sorry to hear about that. wonder if keeping your eye out for a car with some silver paint scraped into it would help?

I get scared of this kinda thing a lot.. my deductible is so high right now though that i almost wouldnt want to make a claim if that happened! thankfully i turn 25 this year and ill be able to lower my deductible... no accident in 8 years, just need to make it another 7 months!!!!
