and i bought the car from mr deagle, because it was more than just an "E30". it was something i put hours of time into, had memories in, and just loved, not because it was a late model, but because it was something i could work with and that i knew i would enjoy.

and i do enjoy every minute with this car.

Thats a lot, and the best parts is that if you feel so strongly about your car, no one can change your mind.

It has most of it's parts, has not major body damage, and you say no rust, people do build fine cars from far worse pile of craps.

yep, and to me it is individual and mine.

i would rather see a crappy E30 be turned into something awesome, rather than an already almost perfect e30 with a few small subtle touches.

Wonderful to hear that, what does that have to do with the fact you oversold a pos to your "buddy"? I wouldn't go bragging on being a Porsche mechanic either.... there are a ton of mechanics on this and other e30 forums who know way more than you and are smart enough to keep their mouths shut.

so a perfectly swapped 325i is a pos? its chipped, with brand new shift linkage, and shifter. new guibo, recently serviced 5 speed tranny, a bomb ass seat, a nice sound system, a lot of new stuff on the engine, and he will help me with anything that breaks.

not too mention that it runs perfectly, has no noises or rattles.

Yeah, you're right. But first impressions can be a bitch. put up interior pics and motor pics, then we will talk. For now all I see is a black car that needs tlc.
Here is what I did.
I looked for 5 years, saved my dough and when I found the right car, I bought it.
In order to buy the car it needed a couple things:
good paint and body.
Strong motor and tranny
no cracks in the dash
working electronics.
That is exactly what I got.
Gutted the interior, revamped the suspension, and viola, in two years I had what I envisioned.
I hope you can do all the things you want to to this car, but as far as I am concerned, if you sold the eta and the sentra, you could have saved for six more months and bought a much better car.

and thats not what I want. i dont wanna go out and buy a super nice e30. i would rather take the time and build one that will be nice one day, but it didnt start off as nice when i first got it.. i want to see more clean respectable e30's on the street. so thats my plan.

and 1200 for a great running, quick, comfortable, no problem E30 is not too much to ask.

mechanic as in "shadetree"? plus 99% of bmw "tuners" are really on the bottom level of performance/technology, even when they think their stuff is on the cutting edge

And its annoying the amount of hack jobs that are preformed on this website

somebody show me a quality short throw shift linkage, and i will be impressed....show me a quality engine swap...impressed...show me anything that has to do with e30's that is quality (besides a bone stock unmodified one) and i would be impressed

Deagle, the fact that you seem to think that 99% of "tuners" are the bottom level is completly off base and you know it. Just because you dick around with Porsches, doesn't mean you are anywhere near as talented as other true mechanics on this forum. So you can change plugs and shrink rubber tubes.... oh wait you can take an m20 and put it into another e30 as well. Big deal. If you were good your ass would have at least built the motor before dropping it in another car and slapping a race seat in it. Who's on the bottom end of "BMW tuning" now?
