dude!!! your car is schweeet! im in marin to. san anselmo FTW. bo-fax is probably the best road in the world, and not many people get to experience it.

couple questions as i am new to the bmw community myself.

        1. how hard/long is it to take the intake manifold off?

        2. did you straight up remove all of those vacuum lines under the IM?

        3. how hard/long is it to remove the valve cover?

        4. and how did you get the silver lines on the VC and IM when you painted them?

        thanks!!

I had that same exact 318i....glad to see youre doing some nice stuff to it! Just a heads up, when I painted mine I also painted the wheel covers a fresh smoked silver and threw new grey carbon fiber roundels in them and it actually looked better than bottlecaps. Trust me, I hated them at first and thought they were hideous crap. Give it a shot, you may be surprised.

lol well i would call canyon, grizzly peak, fishranch, and redwood our roads, but they're all boring now. there are a bunch of back spots in the lamorinda (walnut creek, orinda, lafayette area)...even san ramon...

...if i told you that i have family in tiburon, would you let me in on the secret roads? :D

                      True that!

I blew a rod bearing in my 2002 going 105 in west marin. Guy was driving on wrong side of the road..... forced it into 3rd then second, while pumping breaks to prevent lockup. I came to a stop on a dime, needless to say I blew my motor yet My life was spared, as well as my GF., (was able to drive around, and to my shop).

                      Edit:
sometimes on night of insomnia, I blast through those roads... I know some sick rally courses too out there.
