I know... and towing really isn't a thing of power, but more of weight. a 318 can tow as much as a 325i... althought the 24 vavle power was fun passing trucks on the hwy

How do you have a class 3 hitch (which is designed to bolt to frame rails) attached to an e30?
It definitely looks neat in pictures, but E30s are simply NOT cut out for towing beyond what a class I hitch is rated for, and even that is probably asking for issues.
And this is an old ass thread.'91 318is

My hitch is attached behind the bumper (to each bumpershock/framerail) and then a long metal bar goes over the spare tire well to the rear sway bar area where it is bolted through the floor (with reinforced metal bars) several times. Just about every touring has a hitch on it here, I figure it's pretty safe ;)How do you have a class 3 hitch (which is designed to bolt to frame rails) attached to an e30?

Same mounting for sedans

No std receivers used here in europe, either the ball is held on by 2 19" mm nutts (pictured) on what they call a fixed system or it is a slip yoke style design but using a round shaft with 1 locking pin (slides in and is twisted into place)

So you have a 5 bolt on your touring sedan, and a 4bolt on your track car?
Looks fucking amazing man, I'd love to do something like this some day if I'm lucky as hell.
