Did you only replace the one control arm? If so, you should have done them both. One of those things that's "while you're under there". Now you'll have brand new ball joints on one side, and old worn ones on the other.
New strut bearings are good tho, I just did those too. Along with both control arms, M3 cab's, tie rods, tie rod ends, and brakes all around.
The lone control arm that was replaced was because the outer ball-joint snapped on that side when I took the knuckle off. The 'new' one was actually used, so it's not as off-kilter as if I got a new one
I had new strut bearing caps (one is missing), but they are too big so I have to find a smaller one now. I did thoroughly clean and re-grease them while I had it apart though.
I'd like to do all that suspension work, but it's not in the budget for now. Maybe someday, but I have to try to sell this car in the mean time. IF it doesn't sell then maybe I can work on the suspension some more;)
Oh yeah, and the butt-dyno says 10-15hp from the fuel filter... ouch.
It was hot as balls in God's country this weekend. Props to you for taking that on. I tried to work on my car today, got the tail lights, rear fog, and euro filler on and I was soaked...
