FINALLY the UPS guy comes! YAY! Updates! (56K get cable!)

Well its been a long time coming...

    MY NEW DIGITAL CAMERA!
lol well... sort of new, I got it for my 18th from my friends and on the 1st day it broke :(
but was covered under warrenty ...sort of
~1 month and a $90 inspection fee later

    No more camera Phone!
Any way its Basically the top of line compact digital camera,
no fancy DSLR's for me, Im only a n00b at photography and this is my 1st good camera so no hatin' on it!

    In other news:

    I FINALLY GOT MY LICENCE!!!
Dont know how it works in US but here you must have your "L's" (learners) for 2 years
(driving with a fully licenced passenger at all times)
earlyest you can get them is 16, well i turned 18 on the 9th of April,
GOT MY PROBATIONARY LICENCE FUCK YEH!!!
    unsupervised driving FTMFW

WELL. At the start of april (day before i got my licence)
Somebody reversed into the side of me! FUCK FUCK!!
Damage to driver side door and rear quater panel.

Since then ive done numerous little things to spruce up my car here and there.

1st, Debadged the rear (actually did that over three months ago now lol)
it looks so clean, I LOVE it. however stick your face closer than a foot away and you can tell it was there.

2nd, LED down lights sunk into the roof of the boot, activated wen the boot opens, wiring hidden.
The globes looked great installed and work perfectly,
however come night time and they turn into spotlights... :(
i need some kind of lense to go over them...

I also threw some money at Taylor made floor mats front and back in charcoal with bmw logo stiched into them,
Could not be more happy with these, Well worth the money ($100 AU)
    really transforms the interior.

    pic in a sec

New ipod cables include power and aux input from the BMW dealer.
I intend to run these behind the dash, and out the glove box or something
I HATE the way ipod connectors/chargers leave cables and a lose ipod flapping about everywhere.
I also added a little BMW badge :pimp:

Ever since i bought the Monza's Ive been looking for more comfortable seats,
I finally came accross something which seemed to good to be true...
    ...and it was.

    THE DEAL:
I had to drive ~1hr to another town where i could pick
up these "immaculate, retrimmed e30 RECAROS for $600 AU!"
WELL: I arrive to find stained fabric, e30 SPORT seats, with twisted back/head
rests from a wreck, missing back pannels and handles... guy changed price
to $650 when i got there...

    FUCK OFF...

i only had me camera phone with me at the time, but you get the idea...

    Saw this on the way:
    (interesting front kit? MTECH 1+2)
has the Front and back chrome window trim as well...

I eventually gave up trying to find some e30 sport seats.
Ill have to rock the monzas untill i can aford some LX recaros

    I HAVE:

    I WANT:

A month and half or so after my 1st incident i finally got my car down to BMW BODY SHOP to get it repaired.

    DISASTER!

On the way to the repairers, A huge guy in a KIA RIO smashed the rear corner of my car while on the freeway.
He failed to stop however after i followed him for a bit he pulled over and immediately denied hitting me.
i got out and saw my car had GUTTED the side of his rio,
He finally admitted fault and the car was in for repairs that same day.

The damage to my car was amazingly minimal, E30's are TANKS! :p

This was from the PO but was also repaired under the same claim:D

The serious damage was all covered by insurance,
But I threw a couple of hundred $ at the shop to do a full body paintless dent repair,
taking care of all the small dents and dings from the PO.
Meaning now, aside the occasional paint chip,
my 1985 BMW body and paint are near immaculate!

I have also had my car serviced which cost a pretty penny
    engine mount cracked
    bushings worn
    many other little things fixed.
parts added to a little over $450

    THE WHEELS:

Definatley the biggest visual upgrade since my last update.
While sifting through the Global wheels and tires for sale section on DTM,
just to see some different e30 wheels, not necessarily to buy any,
I came across this old thread,

With what appears to be a very well priced set of BBS reps.
Not only were they still for sale, They were local! ...ish
So i set out on a drive to go have a look at them,

saw this stang on the way:
I used to want nothing nothing else than this exact car in a coupe body...
Car is so sexy Plus the guy pulled off the "convertible cruise pose" lol

The guy bought them for his dad, with new B
    ridgestone[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=2] POTENZA's
Installed them on the cabrio, dad totaled the car 2 weeks later...
Atleast some good news came out of it!
Sweet rims and near new tires for a few hundred! :D
Unfortunately that was the money i was saving for my seats so im back to square 1 lol :(

    AND ON TO THE PHOTOS
    (with my new camera)

This is my firs ever attempt a a "photoshoot"
I followed digital waves Tutorial in the sticky thread, Very helpful thankyou
Unfortunatley after many hours of detailing, the rain came and pissed on my car 1/2 way through the shoot... :(

Thats when it started to rain...
And yes.. i have a FUCKING DENT IN MY BADGE!
    How does that even HAPPEN???

This is when i found out the camera was only set to "high quality", not "SUPER high quality"
    :weak:

I took quite a few photos at night like this last one,
And they looked great on the tiny camera screen,
but once on the computer they came out very grainy i assume because of the light...

    I was somewhat disappointed,
I used a tripod for all the photos and the night ones were done with the shutter speed set to the longest,
and no flash, yet they still came out grainy,
Is this just what i can expect from a compact DC as opposed to a DSLR? (which i'm not in the market for)

Anyway all in all im happy with the camera, I just need to learn how to use it properly

Oh and im also now a member of BMW club victoria. and im sporting a club sticker on the front window.

Hope you enjoyed the write up, It took me WAY too long lol

If you have an ISO setting adjustment, go as low as possible to avoid the noise in the picture. It will increase the amount of time for the exposure, but it's well worth it.

Pictures look good though, and your car is awesome!! I'm jealous!

A rating of a film's sensitivity to light. Though digital cameras don't use film, they have adopted the same rating system for describing the sensitivity of the camera's imaging sensor. Digital cameras often include a control for adjusting the ISO speed; some will adjust it automatically depending on the lighting conditions, adjusting it upwards as the available light dims. Generally, as ISO speed climbs, image quality drops.

ISO is the Film Sensitivity. Also, see if your camera has a White Balance feature, this will allow the pictures to not turnout so yellow/orange at night, and may reduce "noise"/"grain", or at least make it look a bit better.
