    Pic Request: Painted Grills

I'm considering scuffing and painting my grills (black slats around headlights and within kidneys) black, giving them a glossier finish - and a more durable rich black new look, rather than an ever-fading black plastic look. Has anyone done this? What about body-colored paint?

Post pics of your painted grills!

gloss would look weird. stick with a trim paint or semi-flat/satin paint. body color usually looks like shit. unless its black...

Do it, it really freshens them up. I recommend using the SEM trim paint. Or you could spend a little dough and get some euro-grills for around $50-60. But painting your grills body color = a no, no.

Yeah, that was my plan - to get Euro grills and then paint them. I just haven't decided matte or gloss black yet.

          Pics?

A lot of euro grills won't need to be painted because they either are new, or are in like new condition. I've had mine on for over a year now, and they still haven't shown signs of fading like my US-spec did before I painted those.

I did satin black on my E28 grilles and it looks awesome... Flat or satin for sure, no gloss, and no body color.

But has anyone seen a black car w/ white grills? I think it could look badass on the right car...

I like black kidney grills, but sometimes it looks like there is something missing. When they are black.
