I think they are ok when done right - or right to my taste. ;)

As long as you like them, it is all good. I would toss a white lamp (LED) in there. If it is in the budget I would toss in some OEM euro lamps.

How did you get them to shine just through the elipsoid?

The Demon Eyes are U.S. Ellipsoids w/1156 lamps installed in housing. Electrical is tied in to parking light circuit. The Demon Eyes disappear when the 6000k HID headlights are turned on.

Demon eyes are when you change the color of the Angel eye "halo rings" that go around the entire lamp .
Just slapping some lower wattage bulbs into your elipsoids is called stupid .

And they look more like demon ass .
