So you used new doors etc? Just seems like a nice rust free California car would be better insurance (body rot etc.) for such a extensive build? Just curious.

nice rust free California donor car would cost at least 20 (twenty) times more that what I paid for this car - $200, and I am not even talking about the shipping !!! This car had only minor surface rust on the damaged panels which I was going to get rid of anyway, all I needed was a rolling shell, because except for the hood I changed every body panel, complete suspension/brakes, complete interior, lighting, wheels, engine, driveshaft, gearbox, convertible top, every little gasket/rubber part, e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g

PS I may pick up another project car next week ;)

why would I need a cage, it's not a race car, it was made for pure driving enjoyment, just crusing and having fun in style and luxury...

I don't like spoilers on cabrios, I think they look out of place and ruin the clean line of an e30 m3 body flares

that car is dope ! Back in 1992 I bought brand new, 2.0L GTi 16v in Green with Recaros and BBS' for $12.5 out the door :) same as the car in your pic, it was awesome, I loved it but sold in in 2 years because it was broken in 4 times, they tried to steal it but couldn't... I would love to have another one maybe... if you ever want to sell yours, let me know

oh and the wheels are 16x9 and 16x7.5 ARE's they are recalled and they are only 2 sets left that i know of.

That is really nice. One day mine will be that sexy!!!(the car, my girlfriend is sexier already :) )

but the only problem i have with the photos(not the car) is how edited they are. the reds are bumped sooo high!

Wow i can relate to this. I have an 89 cabrio I just bought that is in about as rough shape and the same color as when you bought yours. I am hoping to one day get her to be even half as nice as yours by the time im done.
