Please, no comments on the quality of the photos! These were shot in 100 degree heat after a long day of detailing...I was exhausted and just wanted to document the shine!
Spent the better part of last week doing a full detailing of the M5. I'll be putting up a for sale ad later this week, so this was our last few days together. She let me touch her, a lot...
New door mouldings are on order; will be in on Thursday. The old ones weren't perfect enough for this otherwise nearly perfect car.
The process was:
- Wash.
- Griot's Clay.
- 3M Fine Cut Rubbing Compound.
- Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner Polish.
- Klasse All-In-One.
The interior got a good leather cleaning with Lexol and conditioning with Lexol Conditioner. The vinyl surfaces got cleaned with 303 Aerospace protectant. The wheels were removed, cleansed with Griot's Wheel Cleaner, and claybarred, then given a coat of Klasse AIO. The tires got Eagle One tire shine.
The bumper mouldings were removed, washed, scrubbed with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser soaked with Griot's Dried-On-Wax-Remover, and then treated with Mother's Back-To-Black.
All door seals (have you ever looked at how many door seals M5's have?!?) were treated with Zymöl "SEAL", which is an excellent, excellent seal conditioner.
I spent a LOT of time doing this in nearly 100 degree heat (we've been having a "bit" of a heat wave this past week here in Southern California...I live 2 miles from the ocean, even) and I'm very, very happy with the end result.
She doesn't look too bad for 58,286 miles now does she? :)
Enjoy the photos...
