    The BMW Support Vehicle

So... we all love BMWs and all, but I guess I wanted to get something different again... I still can't really figure out a good reason for it, except that my first Alfa was reliable for the 3 years I drove it, so a newer one should be even better, right?

Pardon the picture, it's not fancy, just one I snapped yesterday after thrashing this thing up and down a couple awesome canyon roads in Colorado trying to keep up with my dad's Euro 635CSi (I couldn't by the way).

It's a 1991, 3.0 liter 12 valve V6, 5 speed... Full service history from Ferrari of Denver. Despite it being FWD, a platform that I still despise, it handles really damn well, and despite the fact that it's geared to do 160mph it moves pretty well too.

I still need an E30 335i project!! :hitler:

      cough *I need money* cough

I thought that thing was supposed to be gone by now? If it's still around in a few weeks we might be able to work something out... At this point I needed a daily driver or that car or yours would be sitting in my garage.

I would have loved to get the 335i and put it back together, but since my 635CSi is being perpetually worked on and tinkered with (the process of "rolling restoration") I didn't want to have to rely on it for daily transportation while I was putting the 335i together.

Yep. Maybe you missed my first post about my last Alfa being totally reliable for the 3 years I owned it.

Italian cars have an iffy reputation, people think they are unreliable and poorly built, but the reality is that hardly anyone has any real evidence to back that up, it's hearsay. The Alfa 12v V6 has been around longer than the BMW M20 or even the M30 (well, the M30's origins pre-date cars as we know them, but in practical terms they go back to roughly 1968 whereas the Alfa 12v V6 goes back to 1954 or earlier), and the car runs Bosch electronics... So yes, I bought an Alfa to use a daily driver, and I'm not scared!

I could see your question being a little more warranted if it were a 1970s vintage Alfa...

I was really kidding. Like I said earlier - I once owned a GTV6. Same motor IIRC.

I regret selling. I want another one day. Cheap thrills at ~2k for a nice one.

Those alfas are great, I used to have one in high school. It was a 91 164s and I picked it up at auction for 1200 bucks with 60k miles. It was way more fun than the saab 900 that I owned prior to that Italian sedan. Too bad that the abs computer took a shit and a new one was like 1400 dollars ( if I remember correctly ) so I had to sell it.
