Ha, if you'd ever lived in the NW you'd know why people are whining so much. Flogging the shit out of your car in the rain is just plain dumb so most people don't do it. In most of the NW you're likely to have rain most days in the winter. It may not rain all day long but the roads seem to stay wet constantly.

I still love it here, because when it's not shitty it's pretty damn amazing. Also when the sun does break through in the winter it's great to go for a drive, gorgeous scenery FTW.
