Are you loosing boost at higher rpms?

If not then you should definitely check if you can dial the cams in as the M42 breathing is not like what you posted, even when boosted.

Would you share the wheel sizes on the turbo?
Although it looks big in the pictures I have a hunch that a bigger sized turbo would suit your racing needs,

Also does the TEC unit have electronic boost control over a rpm range?
If so , then you could build a very potent engine with good reliability
and not to hard of a turbo kick when it starts to boost.

EDIT : Reason I´m asking about the turbo is that you have 175lbs torque to the wheel
at 3k, which is more then the M42 does at flywheel stock. That sounds like it´s boosting soon and is out of breath in the
    high range.

We're not running out of air, but out of VE or the ability of the head to breath. We're at the low end of the effeciency of the compressor map. I've met an engineer for this product from Garrett and he also thinks this is the right size turbo. We did have a problem with the wastegate at the track and got up to 27psi.

I know this is an old thread but I'm really curious as to how the transmission is holding up.

I'm a sucker for side exit exhaust. Looks like an extremely well balanced track car.
