Waxed M42 and the new BMW dealership: UPDATE P2, 56K Warning
Hey thanks. Couldn't get around to daylight pictures. I was caught up trying to get a job as a lot attendant at that same dealership! Should work out, can't wait to be making money. The picture is on its way to you via e-mail.
hey dan, that looks great. we need to get together sometime so we can take pictures of our cars together. I might be putting my front bumper on tomorrow and toying with the idea of how to go about my front spoiler/valance later on. I am hoping to come up with something creative, so I will let you know when its ready to go.
Which dealership is that? I saw an alpina z8 at the towson dealership back over winter brake. And are you going to be working there?
Take more pics, its not all the time i see a nice e30 with a maryland plate screaming look at me from the front end (dont you wish we didnt have to run those?)

I hate that its against the damn law not to have one on in the front. The dealership I should be working at is back home for me, in Rockville. I should be getting the job soon. I'd love to see your car, but I hate having a stock suspension! I can't be seen with this 4x4 mode! It kills me!
Seriously need to take more pictures. Hope to soon. Mind you, it doesn't look that great in sunlight. Beer goggle type effect, except with night and day.
I was just in College Park for the weekend. All I gotta say is that the cicadas are unreal. 1.5 million per acre? The first time I hit one with my windshield, I flinched and tried to dodge it (we don't have them in Jersey or Harrisonburg, VA yet).

Yea they're really bad in my neighborhood as well. Through wooded areas and backyard roads their noise level can reach 90 decibels. And what were you doin' at CP? Enjoying the city-sized campus? Hope you locked your car and parked a million miles from where you were headed...
Yeah, CP's campus is pretty goddamn huge - too big for me. But I had a blast, it's a fun town. I've been there quite a few times before...doesn't seem that unsafe, but the 318 escaped unscathed (even though I left it unlocked by accident one night).

Bad idea! At least you weren't driving a Civic. Then you would be in trouble. Here are some more pictures of the car itself. Might go for one more shot later today. Short shifter pictures are of an M Roadster one I put in a while back. 2nd, neutral, 4th.
Plans are to get smoked taillights, Supersprint, maybe a M-Tech II wheel, and SUSPENSION!!

How do you like the M-Roadster shifter? I've been thinking about doing the conversion but want to make sure it works well and isn't too difficult to shift gears. I've heard stories of some folks saying that some shifters are too hard to get into gear (too notchy).

It is really, really notchy. I personally love it. It takes a bit of grunt, and two "snicks" from each gearshift. If you want something less notchy and a bit smoother, go Z4, or Z3 2.8/3.0...more info on all of them here....
