Someone must have put on an 'e' cover then before you owned it. All 'i' motors came with the =====BMW===== instead of the roundel.

maybe the canadian version came with the roundel? cuz my valve cover doesnt have the brackets and features like this:




it has the same bracket holes and features as a ====BMW=== cover, but with the roundel

thats really weird, cuz i have a m20b25 motor, it's a perfectly stock 325i. so there must be some b25's that came with the different cover?

Rusloleum textured or wrinkle paint sanded down with a palm or orbital sander

Damn straight. That ACS valve cover has been my E30 holy grail for 5 years. They pop up on German ebay from time to time, and generally don't end at less than $250. But with my M50 swap looming in the distance, I won't have much use for it anymore. :(
