    Rear deck retrofit (56k...eh, maybe)

Well, last weekend I replaced my faded, boxy brakelight setup with the 89-91 rear shelf. I also dyed it black with vinyl paint like others on the board have been doing lately. Sorry I don't have pictures of the process because I was working in a hot garage and I was in a hurry. It was pretty easy though, just a little drilling.

Yes I know my windshield trim needs to be replaced (missed an auction for some today :( )

My cousin snuck in the finger on this one :)

      Looks VERY good. I likey.

Don't bother with new rear trim, just paint it black with trim paint. It will look good like that.

Zender, fortunately they came with the car.

Also, I forgot to add something in my original post, I also cleared up 2 problems by doing the retrofit. This brake light doesn't rattle like a b*tch, so the cabin rattles reduced a little bit. Also, the new brake light housing fixed my brake light check panel problem! Don't ask me how, but it fixed it, I LOVE not having to hit the check button every time I start the car!

Just used some black vinyl spray paint in the automotive section at Walart. Might have cost $3-$4. I put on 3 or 4 heavy coats. A few days later I just rubbed it all down really good with either my hand or a towel just to get rid of the stiff, painted feeling it had to it.

My brake light thing comes on the check panel when the vehicle is started. All you gotta do is press down the brake and release to make the light go away..

Or do you mean one of you brake lights were really out?

No all of my brake lights were working properly and after you hit the pedal the light remained on. It's a common problem on E30s. Works now though :)
