    Spec's E30

I'll be keeping this thread updated as time goes along.
***Look through the thread to see the latest pics! ***

It's been a long venture with this E30. I picked it up in 2005 as a new daily driver with only 85,6xx miles on it, mint condition, 100% stock from the 1st owner. I planned on selling it as soon as I worked a few things out but ended up loving it. I crashed this car in December, 2005 and have slowly rebuilt the entire thing by myself - a major feat for me. This car has been my first BMW, pushing me to buy an E39 next. I recently opted *not* to sell my E30 for an E39, and instead buy the E39 in another year or so and throw some cash into the E30 to make it nice.

I have a number of things in the mail now, so I wanted to take a few pics of the 'before' status. Here they are for now, including a couple older pics as time has progressed.

Give me your opionions, thoughts, and whatev - keeping in mind this car is under construction.

Not too sure what a 'Spec E30' really is, but by the end of it there will be a mildly built S52 engine in there.

I don't run cars on the track anymore, strictly motorcycles.

It would be cool if you painted the front valence and skirts the same color as the car.

That will be part of the process. The front left fender is the same white as the valence and skirts right now: Krylon white I've been doing bodywork for a while until I get it perfect, and instead of spraying and respraying I just painted them all myself with spraypaint and called it 'ok for now'. The aftermarket fender has a small crease in it. I just picked up a stock fender on Wednesday from another member on this board, and will be sending it, the front valence, the skirts, and a rear valence once received to the paintshop to have them matched.

Yes, there are Taurus skirts. Regardless of some members opinions on them, I personally think they're the best looking skirt for the E30 besides the Mtechnic kit. After deciding I wasn't throwing down on a full Metch kit, I went to a junkyard and built these puppies, total cost to me essentially $30 or so installed. The only problem now is they're not quite body matched (read above) and I need to put a screw into the passenger side front fender well for proper alignment (this was done on the driver side and fits perfect).

Forgot to add my Kopis to the list! I also have a set of 17" Alpina reps in the mail as well, which should fill these wheel wells perfectly with the drop. I have loved the look of Alpinas since I first saw them. Can't wait for all these parts to get here....

those kopis look sweet on white cars. i'm allergic to sedans but and non built or fi 4 cylinder engines.

Bring your bike to willow and i'll race yah. And yes those are chrome wheels. No one at the track thought i could ride till i compleated my warm up laps. This was my first track day
