My ssk is one of the best mods I made. I need to drive a stock e30 for awhile to get the new short feeling.

First time I drove with my short shift I could hardly shift. So much short stiffer and more precise.

              Yours looks good.

              Sold it.

isn't the oem shift lever notchy as it is already? how much more notchy is the z4 shifter compared to the oem?

my eta's lever feels notchy, and i just want to know the comparision between the two b/c i was already planning on investing in a z4 shifter

My OEM one was really sloppy. Your synchros in your transmission are probably really worn out. It'd be best to install new console mounts in your sheet-metal console too if you put in a lever.

The Z4 lever is WAY notchier than the OEM one.

The M-coupe knob has essentially the same throw as the Z4 3.0 lever. The Z4 sits about almost an inch lower, but the M-Coupe lever is longer below the fulcrum.

I'd like to see some pics.

                        Congrats!!

Ken, put a heavier shift knob, like a stainless steel one, and it will feel just right :) Reduces the effort but u retain the notchiness.

I really like the look and feel of the new knob I just got. Do they make any knobs that are stainless, but wrapped in leather? The metal would look out of place in my interior.

I'm sure any upholstery shop worth its thread could cover a knob in leather

Ck out the Momo Sphere, which is the one I have.....might not be your bag but it is functional. Stainless steel wrapped in leather......but they do have the Sphere in aluminum as well, so if you are interested, make sure you get the heavy stainless steel one.
