    A reintroduction

Well guys, let me say its good to be back... I never used to post very often, but I read through just about every thread while my e30 was on the road a few years ago. While the e30 was at school someone side swiped it (not to bad), so it got sent home, where it has been sitting for the past 2 years.

So I got a mk4 GTI to replace the bmw while I finished school, and now that i'm done and graduated, I'm back home working and can start work on the BMW once again. It'll be a long road to get the car where I want it, but its not my daily, and wont ever be again, so I'll be able to put it up and restore it properly.

Its good to be back, vwvortex is a great site but its no r3v... Its cool to see how far some of your cars have come in my absence. Keep up the good work, I look forward to learning even more from you guys. I swapped the motor once already in the car, but next time it'll be for a 24v, which seems to have become this forums specialty...

Anyways, here are a few pic's of the car back in the day, and my work in progress created in forza (vlad if your reading this, hope you dont mind I used your car for inspiration.) I've still got some details to finish up, which i'm sure all of your keen eyes will point out immediately.

Lastly, I realize there's a gatherings forum for this kind of thing, but I live in East Hampton, out on the very end of Long Island, there are any local meets, or if anyone is ever planning on making it out here, let me know, I'd really like to see some of your nice cars in person.

    Thanks Guys,
    Kevin

If you're just getting started, I'll be interested to see where you take it from here. Car looks better than most on here just the way it is.

While I don't know about that, thanks for the kind words everyone.

It does feel good to be done with school, its nice to have already started a career, but make the best of your time at college, cause once its over, its over.

I'm still working out the plans for the car, right now its got a fresh m20b25 that I recently swapped in, so I might leave that alone for the time being while the rest of the car gets a full tear down and rebuild. I'm in no hurry to finish the car, as i've got no real deadline, so I plan on taking my time and restoring everything properly.

I'll be starting a thread in the project forum when the time is ready. For now, I'll just be doing my research and gathering parts and ideas. Hopefully I'll be able to get things started by late spring.

Wow looks very nice for diving boards. I venture to say the diving boards in this very very rare case, dont take away from the cars looks!!

Wow, I can't believe how many of you guys are liking the diving boards, I think thats great. I never loved them on the car, but never hated them either. Part of my restoration plans included a plastic bumper conversion, but maybe now I should consider euro bumpers and mtech 1?... decisions decisions.
