    Tourings are indeed great cars. For people not able to get an e30 Touring, or not willing to "risk" it, the alternative is an e34 525 Touring. I have one and it is a great car. Engine swap are easy on that shell too as it can receive any M50/S50 family of motors, or an S38... Car is plush and just a bit more modern than the e30. Simple to work on too.

    the things I did when I had my e30 tourings!
    throwing old motors/trans. and using it like a truck! the ultimate e30 junkyard parts hauler!
    just like a truck with a hard shell on it.

    the only really bad part about the design of the e30 tourings is the rear taillights dont raise with the rear hatch-- makes it a beeaattcchh to load larger things.

    i hear arizona has pretty lax laws about registration. You can actually register offroad vehicles for road use.

    Man, I'd love to have that car. From what it sounds like, it's a really nice car also. Which I can't imagine is easy to find, as obviously these are nothing more than just appliances over in Europe.
