Not an e30 - but it finally arrived.

Cool 6 volt car. Ut's a 1967 1600. I'm going to do a bone stock resto. I got it running really well today after a carb rebuild - but I disassembled the entire steering column. Once I get some more parts ill take her for a spin. It has CA black plates dated 1982 - has not moved (except for to my house) since then. It has a generator, a mechanical clutch, single barrel carb and single piston brakes. No sways at all. Fun!

Was this car on Ebay a few days ago? I think I saw it FS.

Very nice --- nice choice indeed!

I dunno that I could do a bone stock build on one of those. The 2 liter needs to be hopped up to be any fun and the suspension hopped up as well... I can imagine that thing steers, gos and stops...like errr a 67 1600 thats been sitting for 25 years...

            Congrats on the purchase!

I think it'd be badass to do a full mechanical restoration but leave the exterior looking OG.

I got it from Mentone, Alabama. Yes - I purchased it on ebay. It cost me more than my e30. It's going to get a full mechanical and cosmetic resto. I bought this one in particular because the year (anything past 10/67 was 12v) and how rust free it is. There's some surface rust on the hood and trunk but that's it. the underside still has orig paint showing everywhere. Pretty amazing. Backtrail, there's something to be said for these 1.6L early 1600s. they rev to 7k and have a 4.11 diff. they are pretty peppy. however, not every car needs to be a performance car. This one will eventually be like it was the day it left the showroom.

Sweet little ride, man. I like it.

If it were mine, and I had an unlimited budget, I would do something like what Blunt's doing w/ his orange '02.

But realistically, I would probably just find a spare M10 and build it to above 2002tii spec, and enjoy. Or maybe some boost - but I like NA.

Either way, I was watching that car on Ebay - nice choice.

It's funny - I posted the same thing on 2002faq.com and the response was "Keep it stock" all the way across the board.

I post here and it's time to drop it and motor swap it. lol.

If I wanted a hot rod 2002 I'd buy a pos squarelight car and fuck it up.

                          Keep in mind it's a 1600 - not a 2002. Completely different motor.

I'm sure you haven't been watching - but I just sold a full turbo setup for an m10 and i sold my 2002 shell that it was all going into. Stock 2002s have a great vibe - all the other crap takes that away - IMO.

blunt's car is pretty cool though

match up the wheels, tape up the seats, drive it as hard as a 1600 can go.
