Nice to see a S38B36 in an E30 engine bay,,,,,,,,, and a cabrio to.............. rare swap

you mentioned airfilter!!!!!!!!!!

i did it like this.. ,, i swapped the S38B38 in to the car in 2007,,drove it for 6 years with that engine



this is the oem E34 M5 airbox,,, a heating gun was used to get the plastic soft and then press on the ABS unit... a superb fit,, and a solution as close to OEM as possible ,,imo
i had to shorten the rubberhose a little for fitment,,,,

I have looked at your engine bay pics few times, nice work :up:
thinking about that filter box.

don`t want cut that new rubberhose
and the box is ugly

I've been thinking if i cut completely in front of out of the box
like it would go in line with that front panel
i don´t have any moorings left so then i could
attached to the front panel

then put some cover on top of box

other option is alphaN and carbon/fiber/al airbox with some filter??

I drove with ALPHA-N for many years,,, then i decided to do some......IMPROVEMENTS

opened the airflow,, made a square funnel ,, and had the finest net available used the oem velocity stack that is inside the oem airfilter box......... and got a better sound than the E46 M3 CSL,,,, but when improving airflow,, the fuel was not improved,, as i drove ALPHA-N,,, so 2 pistons got toasted,, and a total engine rebuild,, boring the block etc etc
VERY expensive

so if you use ALPHA-N,,, do not change the intake system AT ALL after remapping the car
