    So, ive been hunting for a daily for quite some time now. originally i was going to get an e36 m3, then was hunting for an e39. Eventually i just wanted something cheap and easy on fuel for my 80 mile/day commute. Found this thing on the 'tech

    it was tracked twice and found its way into a tire wall causing this damage. Ive installed a new white fender, and will be sourcing a door for it.

    Mods are H+R race, bilstiens, poly control arm bushings+motor mounts, solid rear shock mounts, afe filter, 2.25 exhaust with dynomax muffler, azenis on the basketweaves, and corbeau seats for driver and passenger.

    its got 151k on the clock and runs very well, it put down 119rwhp on the dyno.

    full thread;

    since ive had it, ive put power steering back on, cleaned the heck out of the interior, and under the hood, put a cat back on the exhaust, put the fender on, painted the kidneys black, and put bottles with good rubber on temporarily to pass inspection.

    only plans are to give it a good wax, fix the dents, throw my smoked us elips on it and maybe do some under the hood freshening up.

    H&R race might just be my next set of springs

        Late-model 318i, wouldn't that be an M40? I thought only the 318is had the M42.

                    Really? Wow, I guess I was wrong all this time! I thought the 318i engine was a little bit less powerful than the M42.

                          I will probably keep the springs since the car is pretty light it doesnt drop it that much, and im used to the ride since the IEs are very similar especially with the bilstien shocks. Its nearly the same suspension set-up thats on my black car.

                          might change my mind after i start driving it though.

                          Hunter, did you have any cosmoline in your engine bay on the iS? This thing is horrible and i dont have too much experience getting it off, the black car cleaned up real well with just rubbing compound.

                              Mine has it too, i havent bothered to remove it yet, but it looks like swamp thing lived in my engine bay.
