Don't get me wrong I believe in weight reduction. However most people agree you will get better AutoX times with the spare in, also removing your back seat needs to be the last thing you do if you autocross your car because it puts you in modified class. Have you removed the tar under your trunk carpet? I just removed a swear to god 15 pounds of car phone shit from my car that was under my seat.

You have just totally offset your car's balance and cornering charateristics.

By removing all of that weight from the rear youve essentially increased the car's likelihood to understeer. Not to mention the loss of traction to the rear wheels and the unsightly fender gap you have increased.

Removing the trunk tar from my car has got to be one of the biggest noob mistakes ive made as far as "modding" is concerned.

I would suggest spending more time driving and learning the characteristics of the car instead of trying to mod it to make it faster.

and riding around without a spare tire is just plain silly

if youre going to reduce weight, look up front first. 50/50 weight dist is where its at. once the fronts lighter, focus on the back. and if youre driving with your family a lot, put the spare back in. im sure you dont want everyone pissed at you when you get a flat and have no spare, jack, and lug wrench. as stated before, get springs/suspension done first, then mod the engine/ecu and all that. then reduce weight. without suspension, lighter weights gonna make it more 4x4 status.

A/C stuff is good for close to a hundred pounds. (a/c compressor, lines, drier, condenser, bracket) It'll help offset the rear weight reduction.

Cornering is faster. The only way 0-60 could possibly improve by adding a person is if you were in need of more rear-end traction and/or you don't have an LSD.

As far as autox improvements go, my car is fastest with no passenger and no spare. This probably has something to do with the lack of torque in my car, and also the angle of the engine.

Yep, my biggest auto-x improvement in my 318 was a fun run with a buddy in the passenger's seat. A good .5 off of my regular time.

I had all my Hondas gutted to the max and my Ti pretty bare inside and it sucks so much. You barely notice the difference in how it handles or how much faster you get and no one wants to ride with you and you cant have conversations with your girl, or a friend, or prospective vagina.

The foam by the pedals is at least 6 to 7 incehs thick... When I stripped out my car it had a lot more room i could actually stretch my legs...
