Rollbar/cage? Track car? Harnesses on a street car are a pain in the ass
Street car with a quality harness bar(speedware). I'll retain the 3pt belts for lazy daily purposes. Although this car is more of a weekend toy than legit transportation. I end up driving it more often than I should because of that big grin it gives me.
Also, I didn't want to search for a set of SRDs so I just bought new Speeds, they're pretty similar and very comfy.
And Derek, the big bumpers are still there, look for yourself when you swing by today!

Seats were retail, it's hard to find them for anything but that. I'm getting too old to shop around for two weeks to save $200.
As for harness mounting I've got sparco(schroth) cam lock 5 points. The lap belts have looped ends on them. I hate to ask this but what's the best place to mount them? I can't imagine the seat frame is proper, then again factory belts mount there...

Cramer, can you mount the stock seatbelt receiver in conjunction with the harness? Would they have the same pickup point?
I have evo "street" (stock I guess) belts mounts in the stock places with a 4 point sparco harness as well.... so yes, you can do that safely. I had my setup looked over by a mech. who has a lot of racing experience and he said it was legit OK
I know for a fact that the NW Alfa club does not allow 4 point belts at their lapping days as they are prone to submarining.
Actually, I was allowed to use my 4 point Schroths at a NW Alfa event last year. The tech doing the inspection wasn't a big fan of 4 points in general, but said I could use the Rallye 4s. Schroths are designed for anti-submarine, here's a little video explaining it: http://www.schrothracing.com/sdocs/SchrothASMII.wmv
The key to a 3/4 point is making sure the lap belt is positioned correctly since you don't have the 5/6th belt pulling down the center of it.
