And to those who think he overpaid, it's a one-owner car with all the records which was always maintained at the same indy shop. That's easily worth an extra $500 premium over some random car with no history. They were asking $3k, so he did a nice job getting the price down. If he didn't buy it I was going to; I regret calling him already. ;)

I bought that car's identical twin about a month ago. Mine has black interior, was already lowered and had basketweaves though. I've already got smoked US elips, black grill, z4 3.0 shifter, and cloth sport recaros. Kinda disapointed in my mileage though, 152k on the clock and i got 29mpg the last tank on 87 octane.

LOL. My brother (who drove me up there to see the car and was around for the negotiations) texted me later in the day and said "Damn dude, good job Jewing them down."

It went like this:

Me: So you're firm at $3000?
Them: Yes.
Me: Well, it's worth $2500 to me. If you want to see if you can get other offers then call me back...
Them: How about $2700?
Me: (Pause) No, I think $2500.
Them: OK, we'll take it.

Nice clean car. I know what you mean about the gass sipppin. Since I got the 91 318is running that I bought, I have been driving wheels off of it and enjoying the gas milage since I normally drive a full size truck as a DD. It is now used when I need it and all the driving around is done the the 318. I love mine but it does need a paint job. Yours looks very clean. Congrats.

Sweet. You're gonna need to get the single slat Euro front valance to complete that pauvre européen look.

It's not like a 266K mile M42's gonna bowl you over with fuel economy. I think an E36 328 could match it.

Then I'd have to own an E36.
