Don't mean to be rude, but who gets an e30 for their wife? and why modify it?

found this out this past week while Mr.Groupie was swapping clutches on the ol ETA.

new throwout bearing on the left oldie on the right, notice a difference?

anyone looking for good deals on sachs clutch kits check out member name "cmuzzy" on bimmerforums. i found the cheapest price there for a kit. it was $226 shipped. everywhere else i looked was closer to $300, with the dealer asking $350 for a eta kit!!

car has the lsd on now, rebuilt shift plate, and a fresh clutch.

found the source of the oil leaks. leaking at the HG at #6 cyl........i just cant win. now for a new radiator (again, cmuzzy, BFC, $160 for a Behr!!) before the winter sets in.

              Looks good! Nice work.

Now way I can get my car that high. I need to do drivetrain work, but my "racing jack" will never get my car high enough. :(

              Are those 6-ton jack stands?

4 door ES? How come you dont have rear headrests? Is it an '86? Looks like it is because '85's had more square-looking running light lenses. Man I remember when I first lowered my eta. Jesus that was 10 years ago already. Man Im old.

nah, trunk lid came off a es. car never had headrests. it is a 10/86 build date car. i just need perforated vinyl (black) sport seats, a maplight mirror and this car is done. needs tires soon though, damn it.

                      update:
trans linkage has been rebuilt (same time as clutch)
                      guibo
installed new o2 sensor, Behr radiator
                      map light mirror
led interior, trunk and plate lights (not a big deal, ricer whatever it is nice to be able to see inside the car now)
                      DDM 55watt 6k's

still debating if im going to put the late model valance on or not. the wife was just commenting on how much the bumpers stick out today.....hmm, plastics? i dunno. need to buy some adjusters for the elips, passenger side housing wobbles around when bumps are hit in the city.

                      on the hunt for:
Black perforated vinyl sport seats (heated is good but non's are fine also)
possibly alpine plastic bumpers (complete for a swap)

beyond that id feel comfortable putting a ES badge on it as ill have all the proper bits for a true 4dr. were honestly running out of stuff to replace on the car. only items left are rear subframe bushings and RTABs, possibly a CSB and trans mounts AGAIN. im thinking of treehouse front CABs but im not sure yet. thats it as far as maintenance goes. after that is paint, wheels and tires. and i doubt the car will see any of that, this year anyways (maybe tires).

Just tuck the front, it would look much better.

Wow reminds me of mine, like 15 years ago. I still LOVE seeing clean stock ones around. I get a real jolly out of that. Its rare to see one thqats cared for by an obious non-enthusiast. Id like to have that car in my posession for a few hours, I would throw an INSANE detailing its way. It would look like it came out of the showroom. Im the only person I have heard of that considers detailing a car fun/therapeutic/relaxing.
