My demo @ the Honda Grand Prix

So thanks to Ter-Tech and OctaneTV, I was able to get a spot and participate in the Indy Racing League drifting demo in St.Petersburg, FL this past weekend.

I only got 30 mins of track time (only about 10 actually drifting), but I made a compilation of the video I got.

I left some bloopers in the end of some of the stuff the camera caught. Seems that we forgot to do a few things when we were putting the new motor back together. :p

Ouchy, kissed the tires there a bit... is that the lip or the bumper cover hanging off?

That's the entire bumper assembly. It snapped off one of the bolts and popped off. Someone will actually have pictures of it, it looked really ugly. The bumper cover actually separated, and found it's way under the car with the lip.

I might finally have to retire Fidhle's old Rieger replica. Keyword: might. :p

Yeah dude, I ran into every single problem possible. I even missed all of Friday's practice because I was still putting the car back together. By the time I fixed the main stuff to get the car back out there, I had about 10 minutes left to learn & drift the track.

I got about 3 laps in, but I'll tell you, it was worth it.

There's a bunch of cool things that happened as well. The night before I had arrived at 3am with the e30 on the trailer and I sneaked into an RV lot and parked next to this Henna E30 M3 (MINT!) to pass out. Turns out it was Tom Milner's car, from Team PTG. I had his 2003 season Pit Crew shirt, from when they rocked the E46 M3s.

I took a picture with the guy. Good stuff. :)

How's the new manifold working out?
Looks like it was a lot of fun. Sucks about the "incidents."

I am going out of town this weekend, I have been really short on time to look at the car. I am going to pull the plugs out to compare how they all look so I can see if something is leaning out more than others.

The motor pulls very strong though. I'm definetly impressed.

I want to have the car repainted before then. The front bumper was thrashed already, just a matter of time before I officially killed it. The MHW front turns are still good though, so I'm happy. :D

Damn man, wish I could have come out to see this. I live about twenty minutes from there too. Maybe it's time to come down to Miami.

Oh by the way, I was running out of gas on the Sunshine Skyway, and I ended up lost with 8 miles on the OBC, south of Downtown St.Pete. Driving along 34th st if I recall correctly.

                    Fun times. Great neighborhood. -.-'
