I would like to share with you guys my past few days' experience, it has been real fun.
I am friends with a Formula D and D1GP professional drifter, Quoc Ly. He has given me tons of business through Driftspeed cutting stickers. He also hooks me up with tires on the cheap and miscellaneous other services like alignments and use of their lifts and tools.
In preperation for Formula D, Driftspeed's upper management decided just two weeks ago that they were going to change their mind about which car to provide to my friend. This meant they needed time to find the car, tear it down, do seam welds all over the chassis, paint the car, make it flashy, fit the body kit, blah blah blah.
As Driftspeed's go-to guy for stickers, I was hired to apply body graphics and a car wrap for their new Nissan S14 240SX, They were last minuting everything and appreciated my work dearly. As soon as the car came out of the body shop, I attended to the car for the past three days, 6 hours the first day, 6 hours the second day, 13 hours the last day, on the last day we worked from 6pm until 7am.
It may seem like a long time, but we had to take a lot of breaks because the engine was being swapped at the same time and they still had to dyno tune it. Speaking of dyno tune, the car is putting out a conservative 459hp. The tune for 459hp is a safe tune, making sure the car will run extremely reliably, you could daily the sucker at this tune.
I spent a total of say 10 hours of straight work applying vinyl on this car.
Step 1 - Roof
- Cherry Blossoms
- Stream
- Japanese poem
Step 2 - Driver side
- Fan
- Dragon
- Girl
- Driftspeed logo
Step 3 - Passenger side
- Fan
- Dragon
- Girl
- Driftspeed logo
Step 4 - Finishing touches
- Sponsor logos
- Cover plexiglass windows' borders
Also, I had to assist Driftspeed's in-house vinyl guy with weeding stickers they were planning to give away. The owner kept changing his mind about how many he wanted made. First it was 100, then 200, then 500, then 1000, and finally 1500.
I am not in any of these pictures, the white guy you see is my friend who I hired to help me and the other guy are employees of Driftspeed.
