    slow but steady progress. new rear shock mounts were the order of the day.
    old, pretty disintegrated, sleeves torn out of rubber completely, on both sides;

    new jtd mounts:

    honestly i'm a bit bummed on the design of the jtd mounts as far as ease of install goes, they have allen bolts instead of studs welded to the shock mount, so rather than being a 1 person, 1 hand install @ the top, it's a 2 person, 2 hand affair as the allen bolts turn in the wheel well as you turn the nut in the trunk to tighten them. w/e, they're in now.

    i'm pretty sure i've got a new heater core in the mail since my old one shat the bed, and i've been working on picking up a black leather interior from a semi local dude, who has not been so quick about replying to pm's (you know who you are, i've got cash & i'm willing to pick up, lets make this happen!). hopefully more updates soon, this will be my winter whip this year so some winter season mods are in the works.

      It's been a hot minute since I've updated this, but here goes:
      Since the last update I've replaced the heater core and kept up with basic maintenance, and drove it from Asheville, NC, to Winter Park, CO, where I'm living now. Since I've been daily-ing the car since last year comfort & drive-ability have come to the forefront in the long list of stuff the car needs. Last fall it got the majority of the haggard ass tan leather replaced with black sport seats and black panels in much better condition courtesy of Boxdriver86.

      It looked like this:

      And after:

      After that and driving most of the way across the country I left the car alone for most of the winter, and it was a harsh one.

      The black interior I got from Boxdriver86 was missing some trim pieces, and it was starting to drive me crazy, so thanks to Ramgoat for hooking me up! I also added a shift & e-brake boot set from Matt-B, so thanks to him as well.

      Next on the agenda is replacing the dash, which at this point resembles the face of the moon; cracks, holes, and scars everywhere. Clarkkey594, who is relatively local to me has one he just removed from a parts car that I have my eye on. I'm looking forward to another summer season of progress, which could include in no particular order; tint, wheels & tires, and paint & body work. Thanks for reading!

              Progress is progess-ing. Got some goodies in the mail today. Cat is in to replace the melted, hole-y one, and bezels are on order at the dealership to get the switches in tomrrow hopefully. Finishing up the interior & moving to the outside is the plan for the next month or so.

              Thanks to Clark for the bits & pieces that aren't even cool enough to take pics of (rear ash tray, check panel, and d/s tail), Ragtope30 for the black premium speakers, and ///digitalme for the good price & quick shipping on the switches!

              If a mod wanted to tow this to the project sub-forum, I'd love it. The car has finally moved beyond the "Make it dd-able" stage. Hopefully...

                Looking good. How long did it take you to do all the springs? About to do it on Saturday.

                  jdvorwe, I started with the front, and the first spring took the longest. I quit after I got both front springs done, and did the back the next day, which was a cake walk. Hours-wise, I have no idea, I wasn't really in a hurry. Just knock out the front first & you'll get the back done in no time.

                    Yeah, back seems like it will be WAYYYYY easier. lol. I am trying to get Springs/Shocks&Struts/Brakes done this weekend. Hopefully, everything will work out.

                          Nice...I find that a fair share of E30's on R3V are of 'dd/beater' status, including my own.

                            Operation black interior continues.

                            Today it was shitty & rainy so I made a trip to Wally World, and did this:

                            finished product;

                            I will admit my satisfaction with the final product is decidedly "meh", there are a few wrinkles behind the speakers that you can't really see, and the material was piling before i was even done gluing it on. I had to use my lint shaver to get it smooth again (lol.) It's my first attempt at something like this since high school, in the future I'm thinking black vinyl with some kind of pad underneath to help keep the material smooth, and make dog drool clean-up a snap.

                            Take a look at this pic, and guess what's next on the interior to-do list...
