Good progress on the bumpers. In case you don't know, the holes from the rear DB mounts are going to be visible under the rear euro bumper, and water will go into them. It's best to either cover them up with something or weld them shut.
Why dont you come out to the meet on the 8th, we are meeting up at the starbucks in Edgewater then ride accross the bridge to the meet.

Yup, still trying to figure out what to do with those holes, will most likely just put some sort of rubber stopper to seal.

Not much of an update today...

Had a bunch of non car related errands today so didnt get much done. Removed the rear bumper(man what a pain, I guess it would have helped if I took out the exhaust to get to the 3rd 13mm holding the bumper on)

After I removed the bumper I cleaned and waxed it since more of the rear is going to be showing and wanted to get to it while it was easy.
Heading back to the shope tomorrow for suspension and rest of the odds and ends.

It was done for colder climates around the world, they did the same to late model valences in Canada, Russia, and other cold places:

I also think it came on base model cars as well. Someone else may have more info though...it may be some other random reason.

I have an mtech1 also and I'm curious to know if yours came with just the 2 slots opened and if you mean you are cutting out the top two. If so show some pics of before and after on the backside of the valence. I ask because I was tempted to do so to mine when I mounted my intercooler. Still might.
    thanks,
    great project btw.
When I bought mine it had no holes... I cut out the bottom two for the oil cooler.

Thanks for all the comments, looking forward to getting this done so I can start enjoying her.

Here is a pic after cutting out the bottom holes.

I ordered 3 of them, the e39 touring, e30 touring and the e30 vert...

Couple more pics from today. Brought back the mt1 valance to cut out the openning for the oil cooler and picked up the wheels from Vlad.

Soon as the parts from Evan shows up and the valance is painted I can start final install...

Wipers are on loan from Vlad, until his next project. I should have never sold it to him last year.

The Alpina boot for the shifter and brake were a gift from KishG. Not sure where he picked those up...

Another update, fit test on the Euros, Im sure there is a DIY somewhere here but winged it... Need to do some adjustments but pretty happy with the look so far. Note the corner covers are missing. In the process of ordering new ones...
