I wish I never got rid of those bumps :( I'm glad they went to another proud owner tho!

Every day I wake up we drink a lot of coffee and watch the CNN
Every day I wake up to a bowl of clover honey and let the locusts fly in.
    Lobsterbacks attack the town again
Wrap all my things in aluminum
Beams of darkness streak across the sky
Pink rays from the ancient satellite
Every time I look out my window same three dogs looking back at me.
Every time I open my windows cranes fly in to terrorize me.

But what was the hardest part to deal with when doing the swap?

Are you SURE it's normally threaded????

I know that nut backing off is a problem with guys with s38's that run chips - the added revs/vibrations to the s38 make it back off somehow.
I was until you questioned me, so I went out and looked. WTF, am I really that stupid? It is reverse. I feel extremely dumb- I would have put money down that it was normal.

How hard was the m30 swap?

looks like donor from a 6 series.

              what year?

did you take the clutch from an m5?

              radiator?

explain the parts briefly, was the electrical a nightmare?

how much were you into it after all and said and done?

because of the popularity of the E36 swaps, that appears to be the best bang for the buck.

the m30 is just more period sensitive as if it was intended to be in the car, hence the infamous 333i in south africa.

gorgeous car. if you ever sell it, please email me first.

Actually, I never changed the timing chain. It looked fine, so I actually just left it alone....The thread is normally threaded. Guaranteed.

I scrapped the white car because I realized that the resale value was really really low due to the fact that it was in an accident (last year), not to mention, who's going to pay a good amount of money for a rustoleum roller paint job? I know I wouldn't.

The hardest part of the swap was I guess fabricating a completely custom shift linkage. Because I shoved the engine really far back against the firewall. It was at position 3.5 as per www.e30.de.

The driveshaft fit perfectly ('88 325 supereta D.S. w/ bigger front guibo)
The doner engine was from an E32 735i 1989.
The clutch disc/pressure plate is actually completely stock from a 1985 E28 535i
                Radiator is from a 1985 535i M/T
It was an electrical pleasure... with the wiring diagrams handy. Just compared the inputs/outputs at the C101/X20 port. The swap is 100x easier with a latest generation M30.

I guess I spent 8k on this car completely after all was said and done.

Remember I had alot of shit already fabricated from my other car

My next swap will be an M50. They say that electrically, M50 is harder, but mechanically, M30 is harder. Since I'm a mech. engineer, I gravitated toward the M30. That and i can just go to the Junkyard and the parts are widely available from just about any 5, 6, or 7 series made from '84 to '92. lol

Thank you for the comments I appreciate it.
I hope to see some of you next weekend.
