A Few Randoms From The Weekend

I went on a cruise with some old Mitsubishi buddies this last weekend and brought the E30 along for kicks. Here's some of the better pics people snapped of the car.

    I hate cosmoline

So do the stockish Sti's and Evo's blow your doors off or can you more or less hang with them?

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

I got nothing on them from a standing start but I keep up once we get moving, I was actually pretty surprised. Obviously once you mod those cars it's no contest though, making ~400hp is child's play.

I love the look on guys faces in their pretty new WRX that get something coming to 'em when they get whooped by some "old white bimmer". Looks awsome man, I bet it's a blast. I wish I could do another swap to S52... :D

These cars are definitely highway killers, although a well modded Evo or WRX is going to whoop up on them with ease.

If I can find the time yes. This time of year it's difficult to get motivated to do sidework.

So far I have the guys I work with (indie german shop with mostly BMW business) and Darkwing6 threatening to kill me if I go plastics. Backtrail69 and most of the rest of the world think I should go plastic.

As for MPG, depends obviously. I just switched over to an e36 ZF tranny and 3.25LSD from the stock G260 and 3.73LSD(Last week). Highway mpg got a tad worse after the swap(the gears in the ZF box are LOW). I see around 23mpg with mixed city highway and lots of abusive driving. Good steady highway cruising yields 27-29 if I'm gentle with it.

Nice. Ya our swaps have no chance off the line against those AWD beasts, but do a rolling start from mid second and it's on like donkey kong!!! I have the same tranny and gearing, I think a 3.4X or 3.5X range would be a little better for torque though. 1st and 2nd are too short regardless, but 3rd and 4th are hella long.
