What a weekend.

Thursday - Alternator dies at border. We swap batteries every ~50ish miles to get it as far as possible. Hit large piece of drywall, takes out turn signal (don't care about that) but it hits the wheel bearing too (which I find out about later on).
Finally even swapping batteries wasn't enough when it got dark. It's towed last 120 miles to the Ramada.

Friday - Replace alternator thanks to a very kind E30 enthusiast (Kiro) who brought it with him to the Ramada for me. Swap relays, tighten down grounds, etc. She feels good.
Checking volts and fixing the car.

Saturday - Bimmerfest. No problems.
Arriving. Pictures I found.

Sunday - On our way home, wheel bearing gets to a point where I don't think it feels safe to drive on. We stop at an In N Out. Wheel bearing is indeed toast. Luckily Autozone down the street has 1 wheel bearing in stock (thank god) with little to no tools, renting tools, and buying tools we replace the hub/bearing assembly. It gets home, but with some surging along the way I think the vanos may be having problems. I'm glad the poor girl isn't my daily.
Working on it.

The new one is ON!

All of this on a car a week ago had no signs of problems. I had no hesitation to bring it to bfest. After last year's electrical problems with my friend's e36 (the blue tape covered one) I think this trip is now cursed. Oh well, shit happens.
Good news - The stuff that should have been on the car for bfest will be on soon. The car will also possibly be in the events section of eurotuner next issue. Whenever the car is finished I'll see if the photographer thinks the car is flashy enough for a feature. Even with all the misfortune it was great meeting people and kicking back at the Ramada.
