    My new 335i swap car

Hey guys, just thought id post this up to see what the thoughts were on it. I have been looking for a v8 car for a while such as a camaro or firebird of some kind, but then i came across this thing. A local bmw shop (sports and imports) had this e30 sitting out back for a while, slowly getting newer parts. Its an emerald green M30 swap car. Its got a few small wiring issues such as the o2 sensor (i guess its destroyed because of the crappy gas thats been in it). but for 3k and a complete swap car its excellent. The interior is nearly perfect aside from the cracked dash(i got a free dash with the deal) it is a vinyl sports interior. The diff is another issue. Unfortunately they just wanted the car to fly through gears quickly so its running on a open 4.10, i plan on bringing it down to a 3.73. The paint is dead, but nothing that cannot be fixed easily. I lost my camera but i will post some pics up later. Ideas on a good powerful setup for this would be great. Thanks guys
    -Max

^^ Your sig picture is killing my eyes. Everytime I see it I think I'm going blind.

Only thing I know about M30s is they are definitely Turbo happy motors...

Sorry about my fingers in the shots i guess it wanted a teaser thread haha. Yea thats a cup holder arm rest, the top part of it is in the trunk in ok condtion, The only interirior problem is that dash which is cracked however it came with a new one, the tires are 215/65/14's which i had a laugh at due to the 6.5 inch wheel(my ronals were only 205's on a 7.5 wheel). The paint is dead however the whiter parts that you can see is just screwed up clear coat which you can scrape off with your finger. Ill get some more shots today that arent with a razr or my finger. Lagunengrun metallic ftw

hmm looks like you had a better buying experience than I did with this thing. I dont want to crap on your thread but Mike @ Sports and Imports completely dropped the ball on every occasion for me (rescheduled mttg, didnt show up to rescheduled date, had teenage tech show the car... car didnt start ... kids troubleshooting sucked etc, i could go on an on...)

Anyways, obviously the car has potential so I hope to see the build up! Keep us posted on the progress.

Man im sorry to hear about how poorly everything turned out, they went through all kinds of troubleshooting with the car and when i got there and test drove it it ran like ass. I suggested that maybe the o2 sensor was bad and apparently a light bulb clicked and as soon as it was unplugged the car ran great. They really are a great shop it just seems like you had a run of bad luck but i do see where your coming from. But in my opinion with the asking price being cheaper than buying a shell and the parts and troubleshooting etc, a few small wiring issues and crappy paint was worth it. Will keep you all posted on the progress.

you need to get a new intake manifold... not sure why they tapped for the booster right in the center of it.

Very nice. I turbo'd My M30 to only 7psi and it put down 290rwhp

Your M30 has a slightly lower comp. ratio than mine, so I think you could safely give it 11psi and you'd be putting down 330rwhp. Be careful though. use that power wisely.

Just curious as to what the issue would be to having it right there? Less of a vac source for the booster? And I am also curious what the symptoms of a bad o2 sensor are. When its unplugged it runs smooth but rich, but when its plugged in it shutters like crazy, has no power what so ever and will lurch like mad. Im just assuming that the o2 sensor is bad and not the wiring harness as im using the full harness from the 5er. Thanks guys
