Younger sister just bought this and is going to pick it up tomorrow! She's 20 and has wanted one of these for about 2 years now. She's been looking around and finally found one in her price range and she's planning on using it as is for a bit then when she gets a job to restore it. Believe it or not, she's quite skilled in painting because she spent one summer at a body shop helping a friend restore his 1970 Mustang Mach 1. I'm proud of her and think she is really happy to have this be the first car she's purchased on her own. Anyway... onto the pics.

Old School Mini love anyone?!

She doesn't think the car is the original color. If it isn't she's going to find out what it is and paint it that when she can. If its not the original color she wants to go with a Grey with black stripes and roof theme. She's got it going on!
I need to find her a set of wheels like my boss has. They're perfect. Oh yea... her's also right hand drive!!! :)

The fabrication section at work just finished putting one of those together. It's red with white stripes and has a hot-rodded Honda Civic Si motor (K20?) in it. It's something like 220hp in that little thing. They are awesome, I just hate that they spin the wrong wheels!
Nice Mini though, no doubt. I'd drive one.. gas mileage in style.Comment

Nice.. Rebuilding a 1300 motor at work right now, the motor is so small but weighs so damn much. Ill take some pictures tomorrow.Comment

I remember when Kevin went through this phase of wanting an OG Mini.
My dad has one at the moment for business, but it is pretty gorgeous, blue with white and the dash is all wood and center mounted gauges, like the older models rather than the "newer" ones. I see why people love these cars, and I am considering that car myself...Reminiscing...Comment

Probably the best first real driver car. I've had a couple of these buggers and all I can say is they are almost as fun as an e30 M3. There is a huge following down here in south Florida. They have a huge club called Minis of Miami supported by local shops and even Mini of FTL. As for my .02 cents just tell her to start easy as you can dump a ton of cash on these. They sell every kind of performance upgrade thinkable for them and it snowballs pretty fast from there. Also stay away from Minimania and Seven as they are outrageouly overprized and love to sell chinesse and Taiwan repro parts. Try local know- it-all Mini guru's as they only like quality stuff and aren't usually the greedy all-for-profit "car guys". Petty sure there are a few in SC. The local guru's down here are www.minicoopersofmiami.com Decent prices with great friendly service. Oh yeah and watch out for that torque steer.Comment
