Just recently acquired this local 1985 535i for $500 to replace my e30. I really wanted to get another e30 but I still love e28's. Plus, the price was right.
So far, I'm encountering plenty of rust areas but fortunately no rust holes. I don't really know the state of the engine except that it has a bad starter or something. According to the owner it was a good running car, but I'm still scared that they lied and the engine is toast since it's been sitting a while. I'm pretty good with a wrench yet I'm still fairly retarded when it comes to doing anything other than suspension and body/cosmetic restoration.
Oh, and buy the stuff I have for sale. Don't have any need for e30 stuff anymore. Pretty please.
