    My e30

I've had this car for over 12 years, and it's the only car that still gives me joy to drive. It has a BavAuto tuneable chip, cold air intake, big bore throttle body, eibach sway bars, Bilstein HD shocks and struts, Stahl headers (no cat), Stromung exhaust, rising rate fuel pressure regulator, BavAuto plug wires, 15" euroweaves (courtesy of Eric), Mtech smaller diameter steering wheel (AC Nico), short throw shifter, cross drilled rotors and M3 style hood and trunk gaskets (DCColegrove). The mileage is approaching 209K, but no major problems.

Some lowering springs and lose the wind deflector and that will be a pretty complete car. It looks really good man. Keep up the hood work.

Welcome to R3V, great looking car! Very cool that you've owned it as long as you have. That's impressive.

Did you notice any difference when you did the big bore throttle body? I've always been curious about them, and everyone always just says they aren't worth it, but I'ver rarely come across someone that talked down about them and actually had one.

Thanks for the kind words. When I bought this car there were very few performance parts available...ebay wasn't even around, not to mention e30 forums. Now there are more options and opinions on what works (and doesn't). I try to restore it a little each year, and add some mods that keep it looking the same as when I bought it. Regarding the big bore throttle body, I *think* it may have improved response at mid to high rpm's but I have nothing to back-up that claim. My chip is also supposedly tuned for a free flow intake and exhaust. Someday I'd like to get the intake ported/gasket matched, and if the head ever needs to be removed I'll get some work done there as well. Would I buy another throttle body...yes, but I wouldn't expect much with this alone. Bimmerista, unfortunately I don't have any side-shots, the next time I have it out I'll take a few.

                      Great car!
As far as i know th BBTB is a good start, but the problem lies in the head. The BBTB, and a massaged head with longtubes would def. be way moree effective. My intake is ported and I am in the process of a head build. I think all together the right steps can make a fun, reliable M20.
                      Yours truly,

I'm going to be doing pretty extensive headwork when I build my 2.7i, enlarging the intake ports to gasket size, and other flow improvements, so the BBTB might be a good little addition to that.

Gorgeous, incredibly clean car. Amazing to see one look so much like it would have just rolled out of the factory w/ the body in such original condition.
