    Schwarz E30, finally posted up

Well I bought the car back in March, it is a 1988 325 Seta
the interior was originally tan but the previous owner switched it out for black sports interior after seeing my brothers, so it still has the tan carpet. Other changes from stock when I bought it was an I head swap a few other things that I will just list straight from the ad:
    Motor:
    88 325
    M30 injectors
    M30 AFM
    3.0 bar FPR
    "i" head swap
    K&N Filter

    Head swap:
    Re-manufactured "i" head
    "i" intake manifold
    "i" Throttle body
    173 ECU
"i" cluster (still have the stock "e' cluster)

Changes I have done have mostly been cosmetic, with a Mtech 2 rear spoiler and Mtech 1 steering wheel(which my brother just gave to me for free hah) and I have coilovers waiting to go on. Ran out of stained glass spray after doing the low beams so I have to wait for some to get in stock at the stores around here or order some before spraying the high beams yellow as well. Still looks like crap right now but I thought if I post it up here I can at least get a sense of what I am doing right and doing wrong.

Car right now is a DD but I plan on making it mostly a weekend fun car and track car when I get another car. Next plans for the car are Plastic bumpers, exhaust, power-steering delete(already running without it just all the parts are still in the car lol). Just like almost everyone else I am looking at a motor swap way down the road too, but that will probably be a couple years. It needs paint as well eventually as the pin stripe just looks horrible now since it is just like flakes of paint still holding on in some places. a couple surface rust spots under the kidneys and on the sunroof, which the sunroof one is about the size of a tennis ball I plan on just replacing it with a CF sunroof that will hopefully work as I still use mine alot. Oh yeah and it has slight body damage in the back under the left tail light which is cracked as well from the PO's room-mate backing into it the day i went to buy it. Oh well now pictures:
First group will be from the for sale ad, third pic shows somewhat how bad the pinstripe is

    next group are recent:

Oh well thats it for now, only thing not shown that is on the car right now is the Mtech 1 wheel, and you all know what that looks like lol.

PS: forgot to mention I was thinking of painting it Avusblau metallic when I get the paint done, anyone have any pics of an E30 in that color or any comments on that? Or after looking at some picture I am thinking mauritiusblau-metallic as well.

if it has that much surface rust and body damage i wouldnt bother dumping a bunch of money into it i.e. carbon roof, bumper swap. especially since you said you would like to track it soon. which if thats your plan metal bumpers give you better impact safety. id also replace the roof panel with another black metal panel as these are cheap and plentiful.

stained glass spray? thats a new one...

id take the tech2 rear wing off, as it looks kinda silly without the rest of the kit. get that suspension on though!!!

i can appreciate your McRae quote though, nice one!!

I hate the yellow lights on it, but get it dropped and some rims on it and it will be a VERY clean car.
drop it def. before you do the bumper swap.

Well I am hoping to piece together a Mtech 2 kit as I come across the parts which will look really funny for awhile especially if I get the sideskirts and front and rear kits at different times lol. But as for the bumper would it really be better to keep the heavier metal bumpers? I mean the tracks around here like VIR have massive amounts of runoff space before hitting almost any of the walls. And if I do hit them it would probably be at speeds that make me screwed any way.

But it won't become a dedicated track rat until after college probably unless i just come across a really cheap dd, as I am a Sophomore this coming up year.

I will take some pictures of the rear end in a few days when i get my camera back so you can see what I am talking about there.

As for nineohfour, I stated that in the second sentence lol.

Naw i didn't buy it from my brother, but I think who you are talking about is the guy I got it from as he said he was moving back up to NY afterwards and used to have a Prelude I believe. Name was Bob I believe.

Edit: Here is my brother's car, I may get rid of the yellow lights or go both yellow to make it different from his heh.

well I was changing my oil today before planning on getting a friend to help me put the coilovers on tomorrow. Long story short a tightened the drain plug too much and it broke and I think half of it is still in the pan. I take it I am going to have to take it off to get it out? Any idea's on how long that takes?

Go buy some left handed drill bits adn drill out the plug CAREFULLY!

The left hand drill bits spin backwards, of course, so it should not shove the broken bit into the pan, but spin it out instead.

                  GL!

                      x2 on the bits.

Thats how my car started out sorta. 88, Schwarz, metal bumpered seta. Cept I had black non sport interior, and all my body panels were there.

You would be better to collect all the tech2 parts and put them all on properly at the same time, not in stages.

Schwarz Super Eta love... Get it done.

I think those tails ONLY look right on M3's.
Besides that, his car has late model tales like all 88's did, with front and rear valances.
