My new DD. Warning: Non-E30 BMW content. 56k go check your tire pressures.
E21s can be so hot. I'm trying to figure out what's up with the seats. The car isn't an S-package, but those Recaros are shaped like those in the S-package. Perhaps somebody scored S-package Recaros for the front, then recovered them and the back seats as well?
That's exactly what happened. The story goes, the original owner gave it to his adult son who got the E21 Recaros and had the entire interior redone. Both door cards, rear panels and front and rear seats.

Quiet you, before I sell those Hartge wheels in your .sig. Oh wait... Besides, I would never trade straight across for a car that hasn't seen a hose in over 2 months. :p

Hey guys, here are a few updated pics of the new E21. I put on the first few mods in the last couple of days.
I stopped by the junkyard where I knew there were a few E21s. I bought the old school OEM sunroof visor for $9. I had one on my last commuter E30 and they really do quiet down the noise from the sunroof. I also like the old school appearance.
I got some 15mm spacers for the front and 20mm for the rear (Thanks Jon!) so I could run E30 wheels. These are 14" weaves I had lying around. They're junkyard wheels, so they're mismatched and need refinishing. I'll be toying with the idea of redoing them in silver or a darker nogaro or gunmetal. Rattlecanning will be the order of the day. :) They spaced out nicely and give a much wider stance. The E30 tires are a slightly oversized 195/65/14, but I don't mind since they fill the wheelwells more and reduce the revs at 80 mph, if only slightly.
This weekend I will dive into a comprehensive tuneup, maybe paint the wheels, and give it a good cleaning. Near term goals are a drop, front bumper tuck, a steering wheel, and some new tires and dampers. Longer term goals may include an M20 swap, but if I do it I'm going to dare to be different and swap in an ETA motor. I need to preserve to good fuel economy, and the torque from the ETA with a 2500lb car should be fun. :)
Speaking of fuel economy, my first fill up calculated to 31.1mpg, though I don't know how much the oversized tires played a role in that.
Thanks for looking.

And here's one of my E39 since I haven't posted any pics since I got the Style 5's. The car is filthy since my wife is the primary driver now. :)
Well, since this post has been bumped a couple of times I'll put up some updated pics. I gave this car a 100 point inspection and super tuneup, replacing all hoses and the entire ignition system except the coil which had been recently replaced. It runs awesome now, although the damned Warm Up Regulator still causes some warm start issues and will need a rebuild at some point. Also bought new, correct diameter tires for the weaves. They're 195/60/14, so 20mm wider than stock. The car rides great and handles...well, like a 27 year old car. :D
Cosmetically, I got a new steering wheel/shift knob, changed the head unit and tucked the front bumper. Then I decided to put on the Racing Dynamics front airdam that came on my cabrio when I bought it. Here's the result:
I have no idea how you find cars so fast but was wondering,
What are the chances of ever seeing a BMW 2002 anywhere?
Interested alot.
Use crazedlist.org. I see 2002's all the time. There's one in Murrieta right now for $2500. I'm tempted to buy one, especially a '75 or older, but I'm buying a house right now so I am selling off some cars, not buying another. I will have a 2002 someday, though.
no a/c? when is it not hot in hemet?
Heh, it's pretty warm right now. The good part is, I drive early enough and late enough that the temps aren't that bad. It's usually around 80 when I'm driving the car. After September, it should be a terrific commuter. The heater works well. :)
