No, that had nothing to do with coilovers except for the fact that I'm probably here typing this now BECAUSE I have coilovers. It's the S50 that got me into trouble because speeds have increased drastically and things happen a lot faster now.

I challenge you to show me a drivers ed program in NH that even mentions the words "Lift-off oversteer" though...

So are coilovers, as illustrated by how I nearly killed Ben and myself while passing my friends 951 on a corner. Power-on understeer turned into lift-off oversteer MUCH quicker than a expected so I guess that means a lot more work is needed for both the car and the driver. :D

It's called "Trailing Throttle Oversteer"

Go to any NH or MA BMW Club Advanced Driving Skills School. (ADSS) It's part of the curriculum. I used to teach it when I was an instructor who attended the ADSS Schools..(which is far less now, as I just don't have the time). Or, you can sign up for the Street Survival program which is geared toward young drivers.

I can get TTO in a M20 powered car. You don't need lots of power to have it happen. TTO is why when morons go into a corner too fast, then jump off the gas because they get scared, they end up crashing into the INSIDE of the corner.

I know what it is, and experienced it with my M20 as well but with the higher speeds and lightweight flywheel I have now it was more pronounced then I expected. I've only had the current setup for a short time and I'm not used to it yet. But this is not about me or my car, this is about Ben's shitbox.
