It's M60, the rattling noise is coming from lifters on righthandside. New lifters cost about the double of the cost of "new" engine so i think i'll have to search one..

I really like the sound too, very cool-sounding burble on low-revs and nice good scream on higher revs.
Found "new" engine for the cabrio also, have to swap it in during christmas-break and renew some minor things also.

Going to California next week actually, are there any BMW happenings around (San Francisco - Los Angeles - Las Vegas)? :)
