....when I bought my 325is. It's been a fun year, and I'd like to think I made some decent progress, especially considering the stumbling and trouble of a broken rocker arm early. Some good additions have been made in these recent months, and I held out on posting about them for this one thread. Nothing major but Euro Plate, Type C's back on, and a replaced foglight. I was going to replace my rear red sidemarker, but i liked the black duct tape, lol....and paint the rear spoiler black, but it got overplayed, and I still might.
I haven't been able to adjust the rear height yet, with being busy with work and dates. But hopefully Sunday. I want to drop it a half-inch so I'm right at 22.75" from the ground to rear fender.
I purchased the car for $3,500 with the front resprayed and rear oxidized, the rear real low and looking saggy, and those Borbet Type Ts. It had 118604 miles on it, and I have put on about 8 grand in a year....including about four months when it was parked during the time I was saving to fix the rocker arm.....(and debating whether to try the M50 swap). But I kept the 12V.
I've come a long way in the year, and with my post count, it's hard to believe I had only joined E3S in like July 2003. A lot of the progress with my car I owe to the members on this board and would like to thank them. Forgive me if I forgot you.
Greg, always the Euro Part Source. Jordan, more knowledgable about E30s than is healthy. Stu, E30 technical help is genetic. Ely, wiht the advice and suggestion of 325i M30 airbox mod. Ryan (Super Eta) the ABS sensor for $30 shipped. Ryan Stewart, Bill, Arik (e9nine)....always helpful. Charlie, who I bug often with questions, but is helpful. And Rob, with his humor and help. Weston and Jay, my car's twins. The Florida triple threat are always cool. Ken, Drew, Kris...everyone. Ted was a big help and a nice guy. And Bryson very key to some certain projects - like sending me those 19# injectors.
Since buying my car, I did a few things, if I can remember them:
Taller rear spring
M30 AFM
M30 injectors
Drilled stock airbox
JC chip instead of Dinan
Sparco strut brace
Borbet Type C's, not T's
Yoko ES100s
Better Alpine CD player
Euro grills
Black kidneys
Euro non-smileys
Oscram Silverstars
Replaced broken foglight
Red sidemarkers in front, then black-taped
Smoked turn signals.
Euro plate.
Will post with pictures soon.
edit: oh yeah. the Type C's and tires are 3lbs lighter per corner. Not much, but a difference still. And I like 6 spokes a lot better. :)
